The EFA representatives were gathered in Riga for the first meeting in 2005. The professional drivers’ directive and the proposal for the third EU directive on driving licenses were discussed among other matters at the meeting. The EFA representatives voted for and are pleased to welcome Bulgaria as a new member. The board of EFA was unanimously reelected for two years. Further preparations for the coming congress in Greece were made and finally it was decided that next years spring meeting will be held in Spain. The board of EFA wants to express their gratitude to the Latvian association for a very well organized meeting. Although the city of Riga was turned upside down due to the visit of US President George W. Bush the organizers succeeded in running the EFA meeting very smoothly.
An EFA meeting requires security. The streets around Hotel Riga were closed due to the visit of the US President Bush.
