Following the restrictions imposed by Covid19 on March 8th EFA participated remotely in the WP1 meeting of the UNECE. EFA announced the forthcoming release of its latest publications, explained the criticalities of the European driving licence system and introduced its driving training concept through the “EFA Training Matrix”. EFA celebrated World Women’s Day told about its involvement in the project in KSA. EFA thanks WP1 President Ms. Luciana Iorio for the given opportunity.
Interview Montoro
EFA meets Professor Luis Montoro of the University of Valencia. EFA has recently signed a MoU with “Instituto Universitario de Tráfico y Seguridad Vial (INTRAS) of the Universitat de València”. EFA and INTRAS are publishing their studies on European training and on the developing of the “EFA Training Matrix”.

EU Road Safety Results Conference
Save The Date: April 20th. EU Road Safety Results Conference is an opportunity to engage with EU Member State authorities and all stakeholders on the progress being made with implementing the Safe System approach. In particular, it will allow participants to learn how work towards the Key Performance Indicators set out in the Next Steps Towards Vision Zero policy framework is moving forward. It will also offer a forum for analysis and exchange between senior EU policy makers and the wider European road safety community.

Relaunching transport and tourism in the EU after COVID-19
This briefing provides the European Parliament’s Committee on Transport and Tourism (TRAN) with an overview of the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic on the EU transport and tourism sectors and policy recommendations to address the challenges emerging from the crisis. This overview briefing will be followed by 5 thematic briefings, focusing on specific issues relating to transport/tourism and COVID-19.

CIECA disability
CIECA in partnership with Driving Mobility launched their report “Setting Standards for Disabled Driver Assessment” at a virtual event on Wednesday 3 March 2021. The presentation was chaired by Sandra Hoggins from Driving Mobility, UK who chaired the Fit to Drive Subgroup responsible for the report. EFA took part in the Fit to Drive Subgroup. It went on to discuss the development of the six guidelines forming the ‘ideal’ driver assessment.

Greek MEP Ms. Elena Kountoura presents a MOTION FOR A EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT RESOLUTION – On the EU Road Safety Policy Framework 2021-2030 – Recommendations on next steps towards ‘Vision Zero’ (2021/2014(INI)).
