DG Move organised the annual “High Level Group on Road Safety”
On October 1st EFA was invited to participate in the High Level Group on Road Safety. At the end of the event, the participants were able to speak. EFA presented its training model and shown its video on the role of training.

EFA Board in Madrid
The EFA Board was held in Madrid on 13th and 14th October in preparation for “Workshop on the ex-post evaluation of the Driving Licence Directive” and the first online EFA event to be held in late November. Many topics were covered, the main one being the future of driving training in Europe and the EFA proposals.

Evaluation of Directive (Survey) 16th October
October 16th EFA participated in the Stakeholder workshop – ex-post evaluation of the Driving License Directive organized by DG Move. Several interventions by EFA delegates: Enrique Lorca, Manuel Picardi and Stefan Ebner on the role of driving schools and training. EFA is presenting the official documents to the institutions to defend official driving training.
EU question on trailer
German MEP Sven Schulze (PPE) ask to EU Commission the possibility to extend the category B licence to a permissible combined mass of at least 4 250 kg alongside expanding the practical and theoretical driving licence training to include a module on trailers.

Charging points: Growth not keeping pace with rising demand for electric vehicles
A new report by the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) shows that despite strong growth, the available charging infrastructure for electric vehicles in the EU still falls far below what is needed, and remains unevenly distributed across member states.
IRTAD: Road Deaths Down Sharply During Lockdown
The number of road deaths fell by a third during lockdowns this spring but traffic was down by a half, according to indicative figures published by the International Transport Forum in its Road Safety Annual Report 2020.
